History

The story begins in 1993 with a visit to La Paz.  We helped a few children during those first years until Hurricane Mitch hit Honduras in October of 1998.  With the help of many in the U.S. we became an official organization in January of 1999 and the Lord has blessed us ever since.

The Children of Love Foundation completed the first building at our orphanage in La Paz in November 2000. It is used for community meetings and to prepare food for poor and orphaned children.

Our second building, a six bedroom, two bath facility, was finished and is the home for up to 36 children. The first floor was completed in November 2002, and the second floor was completed in 2004. There are three vocational school rooms dedicated to baking, sewing, and construction. In these rooms we are able to provide education to less fortunate children who may never have the opportunity for schooling.

Our new Chapel was finished in 2006 by our friends from Faith 'Viera' Lutheran Church in RockledgeThe name of this building is “Restoration love of Christ”.

A farm with bananas and coffee helps support the foundation.
A Truck arrived in May of 2008 to assist us in transporting children, mission groups and picking up supplies for the foundation.

Operation barefoot washes the feet of individuals in the community and provides them with a new pair of shoes and other supplies.  In 2010, we have received over 150 new pairs of shoes and more than 200 'gently used' pairs.  In 2012, more than 600 pairs of shoes were handed out.

The Foundation sponsors Servant Events for groups who are able to travel.  Contact the Board of Directors for information.

Mission trips each year plan VBS programs for the community of La Paz as well as assist with repairs, maintenance and new construction at the foundation.
